NFR Convention Sudbury
The NMRA guys had a super time at "Sudbury on a Saturday Night" NFR convention. We went down early and came back late so had 5 days of railfanning. Here are some photos from the first outing. It was cold (below 0). But we did manage to see the yard toward evening.
The train from North Bay had arrived and were parking their rolling stock in the yard tracks.
After the work was done they departed for the CP locomotive facility for the night.
Meanwhile a southbound mixed freight passed under the foot bridge on the main.
Over in the yard there were a number of Quebec Central Locomotives parked among the stuff. These run on Huron Central between Sudbury and Sault Ste Marie
This signal is located at the North end of the yard. It protects a busy area where mine trains enter and exit from sidings.
CN Maintenance were grinding and re ballasting this section of track which connects the mine interchange with the CN east of the city.
Nice spreader Aye
Should have some more in the near future....Keep posted.
